Metal Casting Technologies : March 2007
Your Contributions: to be part of the Foundry Information Highway CONTRIBUTORS nother year is well and truly upon us. It reinforces for us that constant change and adaptation are required to effectively manage and grow a foundry in the Asia Pacific which has now become the hotbed for growth, led by China and India on their wild growth curve. We all accept that change is a part of life. Sometimes good, sometimes bad, but always constant. How we adapt to change determines whether our companies survive or not. Even those companies experiencing rapid growth can have their troubles as growing too fast is sometimes just as risky as a company which is declining. MCT IS UNITING ASIA PACIFIC WITH AN INFORMATION HUB Because of this change factor, information is vital. It is the life blood of any business. Metals Magazine's primary role is to create a forum for the region's foundries enabling them to exchange important information - technical, state of the art developments in castings production and it also provides suppliers with "exhibition" space for their products. Advertising is information. It's information about what products and services are available to help increase productivity and profits for foundries and to ensure they keep and grow market share. Today's global economy underpinned by information technology vehicles enables business to be based and work out of any part of the world. For example, Metals magazine is published from an Australian base but has an editorial team working in many cities throughout Asia. However, despite a seemingly declining casting production rate in Australia, its metal castings industry continues to increase its leading role in the global economy by being recognized as a creator and provider of world class technical foundry knowledge and expertise. Australia is recognized as a knowledge nation. Since 1980 MCT has evolved from an extravagant newsletter for Australian and New Zealand foundries to now being the leading Asia Pacific foundry magazine distributed to the major foundries throughout Asia. We all agree that expert technical information is the life blood for the casting industry. To maintain and increase market position, foundry management needs to stay right on top by being aware of the latest developments, industry activities, exhibitions and trade shows. MCT delivers this.
