Metal Casting Technologies : September 2010
Australian Foundry equipment manufacturer Warill Engineering Sales [WES] has just celebrated the design and supply of its 3000th machine to the foundry industry. This milestone was passed earlier this year at its works in Dandenong Victoria. This year marks its 32nd year of producing world class foundry equipment in Australia. Warill Engineering was first established in 1978 by its founder Ralph Rigby a well known and respected foundry man who saw the need for quality automated foundry equipment to help improve productivity and safety within the foundry industry. Today WES Australia has grown to a company that now exports Australian technology to over ten countries around the world with export orders accounting for about 50% of its production. WES recently completed a multimillion dollar turnkey project for an Indian government Foundry in which we supplied and commissioned on time an Automatic Mould Line which included Mixers, Rollover Draw Machine, Manipulators, Compaction Tables and a Sand Reclamation System along with other equipment that was all designed and manufactured in Australia. We are proud of the equipment we design and manufacture said Mr. Bob Dorsett Director and production manager at WES! We design and build our equipment to withstand the rugged Foundry environment and we use common off the shelf items in our design wherever possible. This means our customers are able to source parts from their local suppliers and not have to wait weeks for parts to be manufactured or to be sent from overseas. A lot of the Mixers we built 30 years ago are still running today and will continue to give good service for many years to come because we build our machinery to last, and we use nothing but the best components available on the market today. We are also a Quality Certified Company that is committed to the continual improvement of our business through the quality process, and, we also invest heavily each year on research and development to ensure our equipment has the most up to date technology available in the market place! We would also like to announce that WES Australia has recently signed agreements with American companies Vulcan Equipment Engineering Co and Equipment Merchants International [EMI]. WES Australia will represent Vulcan Equipment by marketing their vast range of products and equipment within Australia , and, we have signed an agreement with EMI who will manufacture and market WES designed equipment for the American market. Along with our other agencies Didion International, Hunter Corporation and Simpson Technologies we believe this is a good fit for WES Australia and puts us in a position to be better able to handle a broader spectrum of customer enquiries in the future. Last year we decided to show our support for Australian made goods and we became a proud partner in the Australian Made and Australian Grown campaign. This campaign actively promotes Australian manufacturing around the world through Trade shows, advertising, and through other various means that help to raise the profile of Australian manufacturing in the global economy. The past couple of years have been real growth years for WES Australia and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers for their continued support over the past 32 years and we look forward to continuing to be of service to the Foundry industry for many more years to come.
