Metal Casting Technologies : March 2005
44 METAL Casting Technologies March 2005 PRODUCTS Compact leak sealing system A new range of tough and compact inflatable products designed to quickly seal external leaks on pipes and tanks is being introduced to Australia by industrial actuation and isolation specialists Air Springs Supply Pty Ltd. The Pronair sealing units -- inflated to a maxi- mum standard working pressure of 5 bar, depending on application -- can be quickly installed on-site to provide immediate assistance in accidents or emergencies. The inflatable belts and pads are wrapped around the leaking pipe, or secured over other leaking surfaces, then inflated to press their sealing surface against the leak. The units are compact to minimise storage space and also to allow installation in areas of difficult access. Their robust construction allows them to be used in heavy duty applications which require compatibility with hydrocarbons. This makes the ACA one of the oldest corrosion management associations active in the world today. In order to mark their Golden Jubilee, they will be producing a 25-minute technology film, The Corrosion Problem. Mainly aimed at students, this film will appeal to a wide audience and over 6,000 copies will be distributed in the first year. They are looking for companies in related industries to get involved by providing archival footage or allowing a film crew to shoot on company grounds. Sponsorship packages are also available to a limited number of companies. This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved in a project that aims to raise awareness about issues that directly concern industry and companies. These problems cause poor refractory installations resulting in inconsistent refractory campaign life. Allied's Electric Vibration System, "The Eliminator" includes a vibrator control panel and an electric vibrator with mounting bracket and is able to densify the refractory without forking due to the design of the variable frequency drive (control panel) and the internal weighting system of the vibrator. Operation in the Forward mode generates a low frequency vibration that settles the refractory. This acts as the "de-airing/forking" step. Operation in the Reverse mode generates a high frequency vibration that compacts the refractory to a uniform and optimum installed density. The rugged, totally self-contained Gauges allow the user to benefit from the improved efficiency and quality that goes along with melt pressure monitoring at an affordable price and are designed to provide years of reliable, maintenance-free, localised pressure indication. The CYRG Style Melt Pressure Gauges are of the classic Melt Pressure Gauge design. The CYRG Style Melt Pressure Gauges from Cyronix comprise a 6" rigid stem, along with 30" of flexible capillary.
